Health Training Solutions is an initiative to improve the skills, and support the careers of health support staff across all medical, specialist, hospital, community and allied health sectors.
The Courses & Careers section outlines a range of programs that provide practice managers, health administrators, medical receptionists and other health support staff with the opportunity to upgrade their skills to meet the needs of medical, specialist & allied health practitioners and their patients, and deal with issues encountered in modern, busy medical environments.

New Health Training Package Released
The new Health Industry Training Package, has been launched, in another step towards providing the health industry with skilled workers.
The new package means a consistent framework for community services and health sector workers nationally, and recognition of their qualifications in each state and territory.
And for the first time, the Diploma of Practice Management is now available as an endorsed national training package pathway.
Each state and territory is currently considering which course programs will be declared as traineeship programs for relevant course levels.

User choice funding released in several states
'User choice' funding, providing funds from the state government to cover a component of training costs while on a traineeship, are progressively being released by states around Australia as the new qualifications are implemented.
Eligible new employees in Tasmania can now access user choice funding from the Tasmanian government to cover costs associated with the Certificate II and III training programs.
In the ACT, user choice funding is also available for eligble existing employees, and covers training up to Diploma level.
Further information will be provided as other states approve the new Health Training Paclage qualifications for user choice funding.
